The project
Renew the pool. Reconnect the space.
This pool renovation in Gambrills, Maryland, brings the water, pool edge and surrounding terrace into one finished composition. Oasis installed new coping, tile and midnight-blue plaster, then paired those finishes with a three-piece Techo-Bloc Blu 60 paver terrace.
The existing freeform pool gives the backyard its shape. The completed design follows those curves, while a herringbone inlay adds another layer of detail to the paving. A built-in firepit creates a distinct gathering area alongside the water. Oasis also completed the front walkway as part of the work at this property.
What makes it work
The details shape the space.
A coordinated pool finish
The new coping and tile define the water’s edge, while midnight-blue plaster gives the pool interior its deeper tone. Looking at these surfaces together helps the finished pool read as a whole, from the terrace to the waterline.
Paving with a purpose
Three-piece Blu 60 paving follows the pool’s outline. The herringbone inlay introduces a contrasting pattern, making the terrace an intentional part of the design rather than simply the surface around the pool.
A reason to stay poolside
The built-in firepit gives the terrace a second focal point. In the finished aerial photograph, the circular gathering area sits within the pool’s curve, with seating arranged around it and the water close by.

Can I renovate the terrace at the same time as the pool?
That is how this project was approached. For your property, an initial consultation can explore whether the pool finishes, surrounding paving and outdoor living areas should be planned together.
What should I bring to a renovation consultation?
Bring photographs of the pool and surrounding deck, a list of the changes you want, and any information you have about existing equipment or previous repairs. Your project scope will depend on the condition and layout of your property.
